Selection criteria for Outstanding Kansas Citian
Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas City wishes to recognize an individual(s) who has demonstrated leadership in preserving the history of Greater Kansas City area. The Committee will be comprised of the following members:
- Second Vice President
- Chair of the Committee
- President
- Immediate Past President
- Two members of the Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas City as selected by the Chair
The criteria for the nominee shall be as follows:
An individual who has fostered historic preservation in the area; An> individual who has been involved with historical preservation groups
and has been an advocate for historical conservation; An individual, who by their own actions, has become an historical presence in the area and has contributed to the history of Kansas City.
In the event the Committee determines that no nominee meets the above criteria, the Committee may select a nominee who has contributed to the community by social, philanthropic, political or economic services.
Upon selection of a candidate(s) by the Outstanding Kansas Citian Committee, it shall present name(s) of Outstanding Kansas Citian nominee(s) to the Board for consideration and vote of approval. After Board approval, the candidate(s) will be notified of their selection and offered opportunity to accept the nomination. The organization will schedule and sponsor a reception honoring the approved nominees.
